Hiking fans have a good challenge at Cerro El Coronel, with a walk that takes approximately 6 hours round trip. The hill is also a good place to observe biodiversity, especially birds. It is common to see couples and entire families riding horses on the sandy beaches of Rosarito. These riders and horsewomen, young and old, exhibit their skills or learn from the friendly Rosario natives who provide this service.


Raise the adrenaline in all-terrain and ultralight vehicles


Enthusiasts of riding in the desert with motorcycles, ATVs, jeeps, buggies and pick-ups with high suspensions have access to Rosarito de los Arenales de Cantamar, a place located 20 minutes from the capital, on the Tijuana – Ensenada highway. If you do not have an all-terrain vehicle, in the Arenales de Cantamar you can rent an ATV, apart from the entrance price, which is $5.


Enjoy a lobster in Puerto Nuevo


Puerto Nuevo was a small community of fishermen whose families lived off the hard work of the men at sea and the hard work of their women who stayed on land. Calafia is a Mexican historical site located in the Playas de Rosarito municipality, since it was on a hill located in front of the town where Fray Francisco Palou established in 1773 the geographical point of reference in the missionary division of the Californian territory between Dominicans and Franciscans. This was the first partition between New and Old California. Calafia was a legendary and beautiful black warrior who, according to myth, lived in the region at a time when it was still believed that the Baja California peninsula was an island. In the Plaza de las Misiones de Calafia there are replicas of the facades of 12 missions of the old Camino Real.

Rosarito is a town linked to the history of cinema for having been the location and production site of one of the most famous films in history, Titanic, awarded 11 Oscars. For the filming, the Fox production company bought more than 160 thousand square meters near Rosarito and founded Baja Studios Films to make the film.
